qorikancha is quechua for “hey, i’ve got an idea, why don’t you knock over the most important virgin/moon temple in our empire and replace it with a monastery full of psychotic carmelites!”  there’s a museum of relics and mummies dug up from the site UNDERGROUND, a church full of contemporary local paintings on the ground floor, and on the top floor, a contemporary residence space currently occupied by a bilingual, revisionist dude!  architectural irony to the max
